Tree of Life Version

³ whom He gathered out of the lands,
    from the east and from the west,
    from the north and from the sea.
⁴ Some wandered in a desert, a wasteland.
They found no way to an inhabited city.
⁵ Hungry and thirsty,
their souls ebbed away.
